Our Executive Chef, Chuck LaPorta

Chef Class picChef LaPorta is the Executive Chef/Culinary Instructor for Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen. He is also the Director of Operations for LifeCare Hospitals of Mechanicsburg. Chef LaPorta has been featured on ABC 27 News Midday Edition as well as on WHP 21 News Weekend Edition.

Growing up in an Italian/Polish family Chef LaPorta’s passion for food and cooking was sparked as a child as he learned to prepare family recipes for many special gatherings. From the Italian kitchen with Grandma Constance LaPorta to wild game cooking and canning in the garage with Grandpa “Joker” Stopko his foundation was laid. With over 30 years of culinary expertise and experience Chef LaPorta thrives on his passion for cooking and teaching adults and children. His educational background includes studies in the culinary arts, business administration, management, food science, and nutrition. His employment background includes being the Director of Food and Nutrition Services/Executive Chef for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospitals of Mechanicsburg, PA, owning and operating a restaurant, General Manager for Marriott Corporation, and Assistant Director/Retail Manager for Holy Spirit Hospital. Chef LaPorta lives in Camp Hill, PA with his wife Shelly, their daughter and two sons where he continues to pass on family traditions.
