The Story of Our Kitchen

Cooking classes at the CornerstoneThe private back room known as the Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen was designed and built by R&M Kitchens in 2004. This intimate, Tuscan-inspired dining room features soft light, warm colors and a mural painted by artist Julie Riker. Available as a quiet space for patrons of the coffeehouse to work or socialize during the day, the Culinary Kitchen transforms on weekends and evenings into an intimate private space for clients to host private dinners, wine pairings, showers and celebrations. Multiple times per month we also hold cooking classes instructed by our own private chef, Chuck LaPorta. Self-taught from an Italian background, he delights in educating guests on how to prepare his inspired dishes at home.

Those who know Cornerstone know that we put ourselves into everything we do, and the warm design of the kitchen reflects the hosting philosophy of its owners, Sue and Al Pera. They and the staff at Cornerstone have been honored to help make special moments happens for thousands of our guests over the past fifteen years, with the goal always being to educate, foster community, inspire and entertain.
